1 • Mister Blue • le 27/06/26 à 23h26 Shock Rumours Surround Lae City FC: "20-Point Deduction Possible If Extraordinary Allegations Are Proven" One of the most bizarre stories ever to emerge in Oceanian football is currently circulating around Lae City FC. League authorities have confirmed that, if the allegations were proven, the club could theoretically face a 20-point deduction. According to several online sources, a small group of volunteers allegedly released a swarm of specially trained tropical butterflies during several home matches. The insects were supposedly conditioned to gather exclusively around opposition players during set pieces, creating just enough distraction to influence the outcome of key moments. The butterflies were allegedly trained to respond only to the sound of the referee's whistle, remaining inactive during open play before suddenly appearing whenever a free kick or corner was awarded. The speculation intensified after photos surfaced on social media showing a Lae City FC staff member wheeling an unusually large cooler into the stadium before kickoff. Amateur internet investigators quickly concluded it was being used to transport the alleged butterflies. Hours later, several youth academy volunteers stated the cooler had simply contained ice cream for children attending the match, however no empty ice packages were found around the stadium. The Papua New Guinea Football Association released a brief statement addressing the growing rumours. "Should conduct of this nature be established, it would constitute an exceptionally serious breach of sporting integrity. Under such extraordinary circumstances, sanctions including a deduction of up to 20 league points could be considered." Lae City FC has categorically denied every aspect of the rumours: "We train footballers, not butterflies. These stories are completely fabricated and have absolutely no basis in reality." Despite the club's denial experts believe the accusations could be true. The story continues to spread rapidly across social media, with increasingly elaborate versions appearing by the hour. For now, it is expected that an investigation is likely to be opened witin the next month, and league officials expect the investigations to last at least an additional two months. |
